Can I tell you a story?
This year I got to go on a Blessed is She retreat called Drawn. As someone who followed Blessed is She from a distance for years, long before joining the staff, I was excited to see the BIS community in person.
I could share amazing one-liners from the talks or hilarious memories of us eating meals together, but I want to tell you about something else.
The Lord Sets the Standard
We had an hour of prayer mid-retreat. Women scattered across the big room—some sitting with their journals, some face down on the carpet in prayer, and some in tears together as they brought their intentions to prayer teams.
Very few people were talking to each other.
We were all talking to the Lord.
It’s always amazing to me how the Lord can be so present to billions of hearts in the world at once. But that wonder multiplied right in front of me—God talking to 100+ women, each conversation so unique that it was as if they were the only ones in the room.
Taking the Truth Home with You
Today, as I sit at my desk, working my day job and caring for myself the best I can, I feel a tinge of loneliness. It’s just me here. I honestly feel so far away from the Church.
But when I imagine that room of women at the Blessed is She retreat bringing their lives to God in prayer — my heart comes to life again.
Friend, what’s happening at Blessed is She is real. When we're together in person (!!), it’s so remarkable.
God creates moments so rich, so overflowing, that they stick with us long after.
It’d be really amazing to see you for one of those special occasions at the Drawn Retreat. Grab your ticket now and join us for a weekend of turning our eyes back to God.
