What: A three day Marian Summit on the 10 Virtues of Mary with twelve talks from various Catholic women spread throughout the weekend.

When: Kickoff is August 15th, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the summit ends on Sunday, August 18th

Marian Summit Speakers

Beth Davis

Beth Davis is a lover of Jesus, a retired youth minister, the Director of Formation for Blessed is She. She is passionate about teaching women how to develop an intimate relationship with Jesus in prayer through writing, speaking, and mentorship. Her favorite things include being the favorite aunt to her five niece and nephews, making friends everywhere she goes, and whatever book she’s currently reading.

Stephanie Salinas

Steph Salinas is a wife and mama of four, living in the West Valley of Arizona. A California native, she enjoys time with family rooting for the LA sports teams. She holds a Communications degree and her background is in parish and diocesan catechetical ministry. Her heart is in planning opportunities of encounter with Christ through Blessed is She events while also facilitating resources for the Hispanic community. Along with her husband, she hosts a monthly worship gathering with Adoration and confessions at parishes across the diocese.

Olivia Spears

Olivia Spears lives in Kentucky, where sweet tea and bourbon flow like milk and honey. She holds degrees in Theology and Catechetics from the Franciscan University of Steubenville and works from home while enjoying her children and husband. She is the narrator of Set a FireAnd Hay Became Holy, and All She Had as well as a contributing author for Rise Up.Olivia is the founder ofInto the Deep, where you can find catechetical resources that help Catholic parents build a legacy of faith in their homes. Sister Mary Claire

Sister Mary Claire of the Holy Family is a member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) and currently serves in Corpus Christi, TX. She loves Jesus and Mary, and her students would say every Saint is her favorite. She graduated with a degree in elementary education and is currently working on a Masters in Theology from her Alma Mater, Franciscan University. A Tennessee girl who could live off Dr. Pepper and popcorn, she loves road trips, especially this one we are on to Heaven.

Sarah Swafford

Sarah Swafford found Jesus Christ in a powerful way in college and have devoted her life to sharing the joy of his truth ever since. She and her husband Andrew speak frequently across the country (and in Europe, Australia, and the Philippines) on dating, marriage, the moral and spiritual life, St. John Paul II, and Sacred Scripture. Sarah is the author of Emotional Virtue: A Guide to Drama-free Relationships, cohost of EWTN’s At the Heart of Relationships, and a contributor to Ascension’s Chosen. Stephanie Burke

Stephanie Burke is wife to Dan Burke, mother of four and grandmother of one. She co-hosts, along with Dan, the popular weekly Divine Intimacy Radio program. Together they serve as servant leaders of the Avila Foundation and the community of Apostoli Viae. In that capacity, Stephanie devotes the majority of her time in spiritual direction and deliverance ministry, and is privileged to see the fruits of the healing and liberating power of God unleashed in the lives of individuals and marriages at their talks, retreats, conferences, and online events.

Shalini Blubaugh

Shalini Blubaugh is a Minnesota transplant living in Denver, Colorado. She served with NET Ministries and went on to graduate with her J.D., though happily left all things law behind. Along with her roles as wife and mom, she now runs her own company,Pray. Train. Grow., as a Certified Fitness Trainer, Nutrition Coach and soon-to-be Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Her mission is to help Catholic women grow STRONG in mind, body, and heart through the integration of Faith, fitness and food.

O'Maria Buchi Akpati

Buchi Akpati is a speaker, writer, and Catholic beauty professional based in northern Virginia. A former hermit (Carmelite nun!) with over 10 years of previous work experience as both a digital marketer and celebrity makeup artist, she is on a new mission. She now coaches women on how to enhance their God-given beauty and, on the side, empowers organizations with digital strategy best practices. In her spare time, Buchi enjoys cooking nutritious meals, kickboxing, taking long lakeside walks, singing sacred music at her local parish, and sewing modest clothing for women. Megan Hjelmstad

Megan Hjelmstad is a wife, enthusiastic hockey mom and Army Veteran from Denver, CO. She serves as a Catholic writer, speaker, and mentor who loves helping women discover their God-given dignity through The Well Mentorship Program.Megan is the author of an upcoming book on redemptive suffering, as well as a contributing author to several books and devotionals for women and children. MaryRuth Hackett

Dr. MaryRuth Hackett loves historical fiction, watching her children play soccer, a good espresso, and the quiet of the early morning. Shannon Wendt is the founder and CEO of Chews Life. She and her husband Zach have been married for nearly 20yrs, run 3+ small businesses and homeschool their 8 children in West Michigan. Lani Bogart

Lani Bogart was born in Hawaii and grew up in Ohio and Michigan. She was a small child when she began to love Jesus. Maggie Kim is a wife and mother to 4 kiddos. She became a Catholic convert in 2013 after discovering her love for the Eucharist, Sacred Tradition, and the powerful intercessory prayers of the Saints. As a registered nurse, she has a passion for fertility awareness, the pro-life movement, and anything else related to mothers and babies. In her free time, she likes to read thriller novels, eat desserts, and watch movies with a strong cup of coffee. Marian Summit Overview

Our theme for the Marian Summit is simple: learn from Our Lady. We’ll spend our 3 days with a focus each session on a certain virtue of Mary, all based off of St. Louis de Montfort's virtues of Mary. With worksheets to guide you after each session in personal prayer, time to discuss the content with the larger Blessed is She community, and actionable ways to let the Lord grow each virtue in your heart, you will walk away from this Marian Summit renewed and restored in your Christian walk.

The Kickoff: Thursday, 8/15

Join Beth Davis as she introduces us to the Marian Summit on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 8pm ET. With a talk by Olivia Spears and peers in the comment box, let's begin this Marian Summit with a heart open to the Lord's movements.

Day 1: Friday, 8/16

2pm ET - Join Steph Salinas as we discuss Mary's angelic sweetness with Sr. Mary Claire Strasser.

5pm ET - Join Beth Davis as we hear from Sarah Swafford about Mary's ardent charity.

8pm ET - Join Steph Salinas as we discover Mary's blind obedience with a talk from Stephanie Burke.

Day 2: Saturday, 8/17

11am ET - We'll hear from Shalini Blubaugh about Mary's virtue of contant mental prayer, hosted by Steph Salinas.

2pm ET - Beth Davis will lead us into learning about the virtue of divine purity with a talk by O'Maria Buchi Akpati.

5pm ET - Join Steph Salinas as she leads us into a deeper understanding of Mary's divine wisdom with a talk by Megan Hjelmstad.

8pm ET - End the evening with a talk by Dr. MaryRuth Hackett on Mary's heroic patience hosted by Beth Davis.

Day 3: Sunday, 8/18

2pm ET - Join Beth Davis as we discuss Mary's lively faith with Shannon Wendt.

5pm ET - Join Steph Salinas as we hear from Lani Bogart about Mary's profound humility.

8pm ET - Join Beth Davis as we discover Mary's universal mortification with a talk from Maggie Kim. This session will also include a conclusion from Beth Davis.

How long is each session?

Each session will be about 45 minutes long with about 15 minutes for the talk and 30 minutes for live group discussion.
