Live According to the Spirit

Live According to the Spirit

Let’s journey back to the glorious day of your Baptism.

Imagine that beautiful day, the sounds of that morning, and the preparations taking place. As your family and friends helped you get ready, think of the rejoicing in Heaven. Your Guardian Angel was protecting you from harm and your patron Saint was interceding for your needs.

But most of all, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were desiring to come dwell in your heart. We will never fully understand this longing of God to free us from our sins so that He might live His life in us.

As the priest poured water over your head, baptizing you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you became a beloved daughter of the Father. Sister, nothing can tarnish that indelible mark on your soul.

Now remember the joyful day of your First Holy Communion.

Jesus came to dwell in your heart in a deeper way, as you received the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Sister, nothing can separate you from His love.

Finally, recall the grace-filled day of your Confirmation.

The Holy Spirit strengthened you with His gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.

Sister, you have His strength inside of you. Live according to the Spirit.
