Our Blessed Brunches have brought Catholic women together all over the globe. New Bible study groups have been formed, new friendships made, and new tribes assembled—all thanks to women's fearless "yeses." If you are interested in hosting or attending a Blessed Brunch, but are curious to see what one actually looks like in real life, we're bringing you stories from women who have been there, done that.
We will regularly share these Blessed Brunch Stories in the hopes that you will be encouraged to bring one to your own city. Whether you gather with two women or two hundred women, time spent together in fellowship is never wasted. Let's invite one another into our homes and into our hearts!
Blessed Brunch Stories: Pensacola, FL
Michelle, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch?
I hosted.
Where was the Brunch held?
A home.
Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch.
We focused on conversation and building relationships, using this brunch as a starting point to get an active local community for women.
What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch?
I was nervous going into it as I'm an introvert. But coming out of it, I can see where God was working to bring this group together. Each of us were seeking community in some form. Looking forward to what's next!
What's next for you personally and/or for the group?
We decided to have another brunch next month and do a book swap at the next one. We have a Facebook group to plan other get-togethers and will hopefully do small group studies soon.
What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful?
If you feel called to host, go for it! This type of event really runs itself. The startup guide you get from Blessed is She makes it simple and guides good conversation.
As an introvert, I really just needed to open my home, provide enough seating, and the utensils for the food!
Where did you see God move?
I saw Him stirring the hearts of the women who came seeking intentional community. I really think we're going to see God move in these relationships and in this community!
