The King of love my shepherd is, whose goodness fails me never;
I nothing lack if I am his, and He is mine forever.
Where streams of living water flow my ransomed soul He’s leading,
And where the verdant pastures grow with food celestial feeding.
Confused and foolish oft I strayed, but yet in love He sought me,
And on His shoulder gently laid, and home, rejoicing brought me.
In death’s dark vale I fear no ill with you, dear Lord, beside me;
Your rod and staff my comfort still, your cross before to guide me.
You spread a table in my sight, Your saving grace bestowing;
And oh, what transport of delight from Your pure chalice flowing!
And so through all the length of days Your goodness fails me never,
Good Shepherd, may I sing your praise within Your house forever.

Reflect
When we go to Confession, not only does (God) take away our sins and forgive us, but when we go to Confession, Jesus becomes the Lord of it all. Because I want Jesus to be the Lord of my good days, and of my strengths. He wants to be the Lord of everything. He wants to be the Lord of my bad days and my weaknesses as well. I want Jesus to be the Lord of the things I’m proud of, and the things that I want to show off, but Jesus wants to be Lord of the things that I’m ashamed of, that I want to hide...It all comes down to this: I can choose to try to ignore my brokeness, try to manage it. Or, I can let Jesus Christ, Lord of the Universe, actually be the Lord of my life.
