Song about God's Heart for Us
Listen to "The King of Love My Shepherd Is" by Henry W. Baker.
Reflect
The pain and suffering were like nothing I had ever endured. I could not believe how much had been given and taken away in such a short amount of time. It felt unbearable.
I didn’t know what to do in my heartache. So, I ran to Jesus, buried my tear-streaked face in His Sacred Heart, and cried out to Him to heal my broken heart.
And in my grief, I heard a hymn about the King of Love. And in it, Jesus comforted me by reminding me that I belong to Him.
Jesus continued and assured me that, even in my suffering, I lack nothing.
I paused and pondered, “How can this be, Lord, when I lack her?”
My little Eva came into my life quite by surprise, but her quick departure was an even bigger shock. Her absence left an emptiness deep within that was so heavy, so strong, so unbearable.
As I continued to bring my pain and suffering to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I imagined myself like an empty cup, waiting to be filled.
And the King of Love satisfied my emptiness. He gently picked up every piece of my broken heart and slowly made me whole again. He refreshed me with living water and nourished me with the Bread of Heaven.
And while the waves of grief still come and go (and maybe always will), the Lord gave me an image of Eva happily with Him. While I wish she were here with me, I know His embrace is the best place to be.
More than anything in the world, I desire Heaven for my entire family and myself. And Eva gets to pave our way, which gives me great solace and comfort.
Even in the midst of pain, suffering, and death, Jesus triumphs. His Cross is my guide. His Sacred Heart my refuge. I truly lack nothing when I am His and He is mine forever.
Let Us Pray
O King of Love, no one loves me quite like You do! You take care of me with tenderness; You comfort and heal. Thank You, Lord. I love You. Amen.
