"I so longed to find beautiful Catholic community..."

I finally found it when I said "yes" to opening up my door and my heart to other women in a vulnerable, authentic way. I found my sisters, rooted and planted in Christ and in His Church, and my life was changed by these women who prayed for me, prayed with me, helped me in times of suffering, and cheered with me in times of great joy.

I want you to experience this, too. So we created Blessed Brunches. Whether it be attending a brunch and meeting a friend for the first time or hosting one, we are so excited to see what God does."

What is a Blessed Brunch?

A Blessed Brunch is a way for you to EASILY begin cultivating community. The only thing that’s asked of you is to bring a heart open to other women and a little potluck dish to share!

Some brunches are very low-key and some are decorated. There’s no pressure and there are no rules. All you need is an open door and an open heart.

Whether you gather with two women or two hundred women, time spent together in fellowship is never wasted. Let's invite one another into our homes and into our hearts! Blessed Brunch Stories: Pembroke Pines, FL Rachael, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch? I attended. Where was the Brunch held? A home. Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch. The main part (and my favorite!) was the host had the Blessed is She Bible verse cards and had prayed over them and handed them out individually to each of us. Every card spoke to each person. Mine was “God is in your midst,” which is something I had been needing to hear! What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch? I was excited because I knew a lot of the women going into it. While I was there I met someone who lived in the same town I previously had lived in, and we exchanged numbers! What's next for you personally and/or for the group? I’m meeting with the one mom from my old town because we both have very young children and are both relatively new to the area. We’re planning to meet up for a park date! What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful? Just go! It’s always nerve wracking to walk into a new place with new people, but God works in mysterious ways and He just wants you to show up! Say yes! Where did you see God move? I felt seen. As a stay-at-home mom, recently postpartum for the fourth time, it can be hard to feel important and seen. I’ve been working on my prayer life, reading the Bible, and praying the Rosary everyday. I needed to know that God was still with me. Getting that Bible verse at “random” touched me so much and made me feel so special. I know that I’m the daughter of God and felt like He was speaking to me right then, telling me that He saw me and He was with me! Now It's Your Turn! Blessed Brunch Stories: Cleveland, OH Susan, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch? I attended. Where was the Brunch held? A home. Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch. We had great food, great prayer, and great conversation thanks to the cards BIS sent to the hostess! What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch? I felt nervous going in. I have no community. I’m an introvert and basically a hermit. But I came out feeling so rejuvenated and my friend said I sounded hopeful. Hopeful for holy women in my life to keep me on track and inspired. What's next for you personally and/or for the group? I’m so excited to see what happens, possibly another meet up is in the works! What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful? Take it from an introvert, it is not scary. Everyone is super sweet, genuine, and amazing. Where did you see God move? I saw Him move when we were discussing our conversation cards. Blessed Brunch Stories: Shelbyville, KY - Blessed Is She

Our Blessed Brunches have brought Catholic women together all over the globe. New Bible study groups have been formed, new friendships made, and new tribes assembled—all thanks to women's fearless "yeses." If you are interested in hosting or attending a Blessed Brunch, but are curious to see what one actually looks like in real life, we're bringing you stories from women who have been there, done that. We will regularly share these Blessed Brunch Stories in the hopes that you will be encouraged to bring one to your own city. Whether you gather with two women or two hundred women, time spent together in fellowship is never wasted. Let's invite one another into our homes and into our hearts! Blessed Brunch Stories: Shelbyville, KY Jaymi, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch? I attended. Where was the Brunch held? A home. Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch. We prayed together and talked about what we love about the Faith. What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch? I was excited to take this step toward meeting other women who are passionate about the Faith. But I was also nervous because I was going alone. Our host was very friendly, though, and there was never pressure to commit to or say more than what was natural in our friendly conversation. And that’s what ultimately happened, friendly discussion with kind women who also love the Lord. What's next for you personally and/or for the group? We talked about touching base later to see about doing a Bible study or book study together. However, because our group was pretty small and from different areas of the city, that may not work out. Regardless, I’m glad the Spirit led me to (finally) take this step. It’s got me considering hosting a Blessed Brunch myself in my own hometown. What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful? Your host and anyone else who attends are guaranteed to have some important things in common with you: love of the Lord, a desire for sisterhood. I went alone, knowing that the other women attending were a different age and in a different phase of life than I am, but I still wanted to go because I wanted to see Christ in them. I am so glad I did! The Lord is indeed at work in their lives, and it made me see new avenues that i could give Him access to in my own. Where did you see God move? Our host in particular was obviously a woman who has given much of her life and heart to the Lord. Of course, my relationship with God will be completely unique. But it was inspiring to see the blessings God has in store for a woman (and family) who puts her heart and life at the foot of the Cross. It gave me courage to see her bold faith. Now It's Your Turn! Blessed Brunch Stories: Enid, Oklahoma Stephanie, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch? I hosted. Where was the Brunch held? A home. Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch. We prayed the opening prayer. We ate and enjoyed fellowship. We then gathered and used a few of the discussion questions. We also talked about our plan to do the Rooted study at church this year. What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch? I was hopeful that the brunch would reach some new women in our community. I left feeling excited to get to know these women more throughout the year. What's next for you personally and/or for the group? We're doing the "Rooted" study after the school Mass. We're meeting in the youth room at our parish. What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful? Just be yourself. So many women are looking for authentic community. You can provide that by being true to yourself. Where did you see God move? A new woman, who I did not know well, came and was very open about the ways God has moved in her life recently. She is not Catholic, but wants to join us for the study this year. He has great plans for her. Now It's Your Turn! Ready to host a Blessed Brunch for the women in your community? We've done the hard work for you and have everything you need.
