Our Blessed Brunches have brought Catholic women together all over the globe. New Bible study groups have been formed, new friendships made, and new tribes assembled—all thanks to women's fearless "yeses." If you are interested in hosting or attending a Blessed Brunch, but are curious to see what one actually looks like in real life, we're bringing you stories from women who have been there, done that.
We will regularly share these Blessed Brunch Stories in the hopes that you will be encouraged to bring one to your own city. Whether you gather with two women or two hundred women, time spent together in fellowship is never wasted. Let's invite one another into our homes and into our hearts!
Blessed Brunch Stories: St. Paul, MN
Ariel, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch?
I attended.
Where was the Brunch held?
A parish.
Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch.
We prayed morning prayer together, ate, and discussed readings in the morning prayer and Gospel that week. We focused on the idea of being “the salt of the earth” and had a great conversation about it!
What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch?
I was nervous because I’m 21 and somewhat younger than the demographic I thought would be attending. I'm very glad I went! I was still the youngest person there, but I had a really wonderful time.
What's next for you personally and/or for the group?
I plan to go to another brunch next month!
What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Pray for peace and the room for God to do beautiful things with your time there.
Where did you see God move?
We talked about how we can retain our “saltiness” and not go stale. I could see God open up the mind of the friend I brought and inspire new ideas in all of us.
