Our Blessed Brunches have brought Catholic women together all over the globe. New Bible study groups have been formed, new friendships made, and new tribes assembled—all thanks to women's fearless "yeses." If you are interested in hosting or attending a Blessed Brunch, but are curious to see what one actually looks like in real life, we're bringing you stories from women who have been there, done that.
We will regularly share these Blessed Brunch Stories in the hopes that you will be encouraged to bring one to your own city. Whether you gather with two women or two hundred women, time spent together in fellowship is never wasted. Let's invite one another into our homes and into our hearts!
Blessed Brunch Stories: West Harrison, Indiana
Erin, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch?
I hosted.
Where was the Brunch held?
A home.
Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch.
It was a small group of us, but we shared the food we all brought and sat around one table together. We did an opening prayer and then focused on getting to know each other and talking about our Faith.
What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch?
I was a little nervous because I was hosting. But afterward, I felt encouraged and recharged. I knew most of the women that came, but I got to know everyone a little bit better.
Before the brunch I wanted everything to look great. In the end, what mattered most was how we came together and got to know each other better and share our Faith.
What's next for you personally and/or for the group?
Some of the women—including myself—meet regularly to do Blessed is She studies. We hope to have more women join us from the area.
What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful?
Ask God for strength and trust. Hosting the brunch was a little outside my comfort zone, but I felt called to do it. Bring or invite a friend!
Where did you see God move?
I think I saw God move the most in our conversations, especially when we found a connection or similar interest between one or two of us that we didn't know about before.
