Our Blessed Brunches have brought Catholic women together all over the globe. New Bible study groups have been formed, new friendships made, and new tribes assembled—all thanks to women's fearless "yeses." If you are interested in hosting or attending a Blessed Brunch, but are curious to see what one actually looks like in real life, we're bringing you stories from women who have been there, done that.
We will regularly share these Blessed Brunch Stories in the hopes that you will be encouraged to bring one to your own city. Whether you gather with two women or two hundred women, time spent together in fellowship is never wasted. Let's invite one another into our homes and into our hearts!
Blessed Brunch Stories: Enid, Oklahoma
Stephanie, did you host or attend this Blessed Brunch?
I hosted.
Where was the Brunch held?
A home.
Tell us a bit about what happened at the Brunch.
We prayed the opening prayer. We ate and enjoyed fellowship. We then gathered and used a few of the discussion questions. We also talked about our plan to do the Rooted study at church this year.
What was your feeling going into the Brunch, and what was it coming out of the Brunch?
I was hopeful that the brunch would reach some new women in our community. I left feeling excited to get to know these women more throughout the year.
What's next for you personally and/or for the group?
We're doing the "Rooted" study after the school Mass. We're meeting in the youth room at our parish.
What advice do you have for someone who is interested in attending and/or hosting a Blessed Brunch but may be hesitant or fearful?
Just be yourself. So many women are looking for authentic community. You can provide that by being true to yourself.
Where did you see God move?
A new woman, who I did not know well, came and was very open about the ways God has moved in her life recently. She is not Catholic, but wants to join us for the study this year. He has great plans for her.
