This is me, sitting with my jaw open, amazed at Saint Paul. By his words and life Saint Paul brings people to Christ and His Church. Conversions of heart happen, whole households are saved, the Spirit flows and convicts people. But me? I don't seem to have that same success rate.
I have a deep desire to bring fallen-away or luke-warm Catholics back to the fullness and beauty of the Catholic faith. I love being Catholic, and I want others to embrace the truth, beauty, fun, and quirkiness of our faith the way I have because I want it to enrich their lives the way it has enriched mine. I want them to know and love God the way I do, actually I want them to know and love Him more than I. But often I cower, I fumble, I feel inadequate, and worry about if I look overly enthusiastic.
Saint Paul was bold. He took chances. He wasn't afraid of what people thought of him. I don't know about you, but I want to be more like Saint Paul. I want the Holy Spirit, promised by Jesus, to fill, convict, and guide me the way It did for Saint Paul. Maybe you have the same struggle: the desire to live, love, and speak in a way that brings others to Christ and His Church. Maybe you're also stymied by fear and therefore unlikely to move.
Let's pray for one another during this season of Easter, and let's ask Saint Paul to pray for us. May the Holy Spirit fill us, move us, and help us to bring honor and glory to God.
Saint Paul was bold. He took chances. I want to be more like him. //@BonnieEngstromClick to tweet
