projectblessed Prayer Pledge Day 6

Today, Elise Howe’s devotional gives us a very specific call to prayer:

Sisters, will you join me in prayer? Let’s pray that our hearts would not be hardened to seeing God’s love for us, especially in the most unexpected of people and places. Let’s pray that fear would not rule our hearts or lives. Let’s pray that in choosing to love, we might be Christ on earth for one another.

By praying to choose love, we begin to live out the incarnation — being the physical hands, feet, eyes, and ears of Christ to the world. Jesus gathers all of us to Himself as His disciples and sends us out to the world with the joy of the gospel. Open hearts draw people into His divine love through our own human love.

Pray to be this love to the world.

Comment below with your thoughts:

Can you open your heart today? Who can you serve in a Christ-like way?

or, simply answer:

Did you pray today?

I loved the readings this morning. Especially this line from 1 John, “No one has ever seen God.” Paired with the disciples seeing Jesus on the water and being terrified, it just reminds me that we are the face of God to others. I am the fave of God to my spouse, my children, my neighbors, the world. My prayer this morning is to open my heart more and more to God’s love for me, that I may in turn share it with others.

I am leading a Teens Encounter Christ retreat this weekend and I pray that I can be the hands, feet, eyes, and ears of Christ to all those teens, young adults, and adults attending. I also pray that the witness I will share this weekend will reveal the goodness of the Lord and give those listening the strength to live out the incarnation in their daily lives.

I could serve my family and friends in a Christ-like way even when its hard. Especially when it’s hard actually. now that I’m thinking about it. That is when He is there for me, when times are tough. So I should always do the same. Thank you for these daily posts, they always give me so much to reflect on.

Preparing to serve in a ministry position after college graduation, I’m praying to be able to show Christ’s love to all I encounter. But I also pray to be able to be Christ to my family, friends, and everyone I encounter….that is harder than it sounds sometimes when it demands the transformation of selfish desire into loving action for the good of others.
