projectblessed Prayer Pledge Day 24

Today, we want to hear what devotions are most important to you! This month, our writers have shared some of their favorite ways to connect with the Lord, whether through the Rosary, with prayer to his Sacred Heart, or creating a physical prayer space.

Next week, we will we explore different ways that we can pray with the saints. The prayers of the saints vary as greatly as their personality, and we can learn a lot from the way each of them pray. As each of us grows in sanctity toward the goal of sainthood, we each will be drawn to certain devotions and modes of prayer.

As we look toward the finish line of this prayer pledge, it is time to consider how each of us will keep up our prayer lives every day. So today, share the devotions that call to your heart.

Comment below with your thoughts:

What devotion do you turn to again and again? Are there devotions you want to begin to explore? What saints are role models for your prayer life?

or, simply answer:

Did you pray today?

Since consecrating myself to Mary last year I’ve been trying to get into the rosary. It’s been a slow process, but I’m finally realizing how beautiful of a prayer it is. I’m trying to get to the point where I pray it every day. I’m not there yet. But I hope to be soon. I also love Divine Mercy, the Sacred Heart, and consoling spirituality. The Heart of Jesus is such a treasure. It blows my mind that His Heart will never empty of riches; He is always ready to give and give and give, without counting the cost. I sometimes feel like I’m asking for or taking too much, so devotion to Jesus’ Heart has been a great exercise in being merciful to myself, too 🙂

I would love to commit to saying the a divine Mercy chapter more frequently. (Daily if possible) especially with Lent coming up. My favorite Saint to reflect on and pray to is St. Monica. Her perseverance is such an inspiration to be. She was alone in her faith within her family and she never stopped fighting for the conversion of her son and husband. I pray that I can be more like her in continuing to pray for my family.

I have been saying the Liturgy of the Hours (mostly Lauds and Compline) and am very much enjoying it.

I pray the Invitatory and Morning Prayer in the car on my way to work and personal prayers and Compline each night in bed using the Divine Office Liturgy of the Hours podcast on my phone. My favorite Saint is St. Francis of Assisi and I am trying to do The Prayer of St. Francis every day. Right now I am exploring creating a set of prayer beads and determining a combination of my favorite prayers to do each day.
