BIS LIVES Prayer Pledge

Prayer Pledge 2017: Day 31

Here we are, at the end of January. The month has been at turns fruitful, trying, and hopeful for me. We have another month to pray in this Ordinary Time before the refining power of Lent. Blessed is She will travel along with you through these seasons — in daily devotionals and here on the blog, as well as with our Lenten journals and tools.

Thank you for praying with me and all the BIS sisters this month and all year long.

Comment below with your thoughts:

Has this month of prayer changed your routine, your heart, your perspective? How will you continue throughout 2017?

or, simply answer:

Did you pray today?

I have enjoyed this addition to my meditation and prayer life. Thank you for it. I doubt it was easy to get this out every AM, Brigid. Your Fan, Sarah J.

I prayed the Rosary for the pray pledge, which is a prayer that I did not fully pray every night prior to the prayer pledge. I made it a priority pray the rosary first and then continue my nightly prayer routine, which I read the daily devotional in the Jesus Calling book, by Sarah Young, and mindfully praying to God internally, or if I had time, I wrote my prayers to Him in a form of a letter in my journal. Since the praying the whole Rosary took me about a half hour, it has expanded my time in prayer in another medium rather than writing and it expanded my time honoring Blessed Mother. I will try to continue to pray the whole Rosary, but if I cannot due to time, then I will either pray a decade or pray one Hail Mary to conclude my nightly prayer to God. I will also continue writing letters to God.

In addition to praying the Rosary, being invited to comment and share my thoughts on the daily prayer pledge blog has reinforced my heart and my own perspective on myself. This has been a platform for me to testify and apply all that I have learned and who I have become to be within two and half years. I want to say thank you.

I found that adding in this prayer devotion, I was able to catch a prayer in different places, at work when I had a small break (like right now) and sometimes just before bed but my favorite time has been in the morning! Praying for all off you too, BIS sisters.

I have been forever changed by this month of prayer. I now pray a morning offering and night prayer like a boss. I never ever did that before in my entire life and I was born and raised Catholic. You ladies are nothing short of AMAZING!
