Prayer Pledge 2017: Day 10

One of the things I want to learn to do more meaningfully this year is to know I walk with God by my side every day. Sometimes I just feel so alone, even though I know that is never true. Today, I am taking a cue from my BIS sister Mary Catherine Craige and going on a prayer walk to remind me that I never walk alone.

Her instructions were simple:

Take a walk. Take this time to find intentional encounter with God. Be with Him. Talk to Him. Listen to Him. “Walking with Jesus,” she told me, “literally.”

Today I am taking time to clear my head and pray on a walk. (Even though it is quite chilly here in Wisconsin.)

Comment below with your thoughts:

Did you take a prayer walk today? How did it feel for you?

or, simply answer:

Did you pray today?

I prayed today. Even though I am in the midst of a raging bout of an upper respiratory virus, with a plugged head, cough and (I fear) a looming ear infection, still I prayed. I admit, I didn’t yesterday as I was cranky and feeling sorry for myself. But as I witnessed myself snapping at my husband who was just trying to help me feel better, I realized I needed to pray, daily and with intention. Thank you, Father, for these Thy gifts.

Not able to take a walk today, for lots of reasons. But I will take a drive…park somewhere where nature is on display — even winter barrenness has a subtle beauty — and sit with God in silence. Well, maybe not silence….I can’t ever seem to be fully quiet….

I took my dog for a walk, and I was immediately met by Jesus, as the cold air shocked me to the bone, and pulled me out of my “blah” mood….a reminder that Christ gives us new life!

Today, I did not have time to take a walk or a prayer walk. I love going on walks, especially when walking my standard poodle. When it is just the two of us, I offer the walk up to Him. I walk with Him. I talk to Him. I’ll tell God what is on my mind, share my biggest dreams, and thank Him for the nature that surrounds me, as I admire all the sights and sounds. I cannot help but think when there is a gust of wind; it’s Him who showing me that He is here with me. I cannot help but think when the sun’s rays touch my face; it’s Him kissing my cheeks to show me how much He loves me. I always feel at peace.

I pray that my mum and i will be able to understand each other’s love language and I won’t feel frustrated with her for not having eye contact when she is talking to me. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
