This week, our prayer prompts will focus on prayer in action. We have a great example in the spirituality of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as shared by Elizabeth Foss today.
Mother Seton, a convert, widow, and mother, knew hardship but did all things with grace and cheer. As our own Elizabeth writes, “[Cheerfulness] isn’t a forced smile through gritted teeth. Instead, it’s the prayerful plea for the ability to reflect God’s own joy in the image of the Creator that is you.”
In this Year of Mercy, we are called to live our faith in action and prayer together -- bringing tenderness and openness to the world.
Comment below with your thoughts:
What simple tasks can you imbue with the joy of Christ today? How can you reflect God in your actions?
Or, simply answer:
Did you pray today?
