Another Advent creeps up and I page through Peace Has a Name before my small group starts it in less than a month. I think back on October of 2017, with our new house barely moved into, one item stood out on the calendar: Nell's small group Sunday night, 8pm. We had no coffee table, no cups out or even spare plates, but this group of women gathered around in my living room and our conversation began something like this:
How did you find out about Blessed is She?
And you just moved here? From Colorado? I love it!
Can we pray together before we jump into the Virtue Study?
A group of near-strangers met that night.
So What Makes a Small Group Worth It?
Five years later, the offshoots of friendship astonish me. One woman asked another to be her child's Godmother. I was the witness for the convalidation Wedding Mass of one. We all sent flowers and wept when another's father passed away. We cheered on still another's new condo purchase and brought meals and fresh sourdough while even another expects her eighth child.

What about a Virtual Group?
Is it worth it to join a virtual group? Will the time spent be worth my while? Isn't it always a stretch to do something new? I can't tell you how your life will be changed, but I can promise that it will in some way.
When we meet one another in our stories, when we laugh and cry and share, when we read and pray with Sacred Scripture, we are changed.
I hope your small group blesses you immensely. We are praying your community grows and brings you closer to Our Lord, the Prince of Peace, this special Advent season.
