A Call to Worship and Obedience
O come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it;
for his hands formed the dry land.
O come, let us worship and bow down,
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
-Psalm 95:1-6 (RSVCE)
Reflect
Our Lord has offered us so much to enjoy! The Psalm guides us through a series of great things He has fashioned for us. The sea, the mountains, earth. Even us!
These tactile images bring me to my knees in adoration. He shaped the very planet we live in, the air we breathe, the waters we drink. I cannot be physically sustained without Him. My very being is made to praise Him, coming before Him at Mass, Adoration, in my heart, opened to His. I want to come into His presence with singing, eyes open to the many gifts He showers me with.
Act
If you’re not familiar with the Psalms, this is your year to fall in love with them. Pick up your Bible and mark where they begin. Resolve to read one a day. Start today.
Let Us Pray
Oh Lord, let me let You shower me with love. Let my heart turn towards Yours this year.
