Mary Magdalene, sweet Mary Magdalene. I like to think of her as the patron saint of conviction and metanoia, conversion or a change of heart.

In this day and age when so many of us women have seen the effects of the hook up culture all around even in our own lives possibly, Mary Magdalene reminds us that conviction brings forth metanoia fueled by love.

There was a time in my life when chastity was at an all-time low even after having encountered Jesus. I felt like such a fraud!

"This is the one thing Christians need to do well, and I'm sucking it at it right now," I thought. Condemnation welled up in my spirit. It was causing me to cave in and wallow in a lesser-known form of pride — the pride of timidity — which makes us so fearful of the opinions of others.

Mary Magdalene saw the truth about her worth revealed to her. She was convicted about how loved she was, and it was that conviction that lead to repentance and conversion, her metanoia.

Her constant metanoia was fueled by an active love.

As the new creation she was she sought to love everywhere, "I have seen the Lord" (John 20:18).

Do you feel convicted in your journey with the Lord? In such a way where the conviction works like an activator to love which impels us to help other people see why they can no longer live for themselves?

Wherever you are in your journey the voice of God will always bring upon conviction in your spirit, so talk to Him.

Repent and convert!
