She sat across the desk from me, checking me in for an appointment. I’d never seen her before, and I studied her as she entered the data. She was thin, surely underweight, and her permed hair was greying. Her hands were knobby, and they with the deep wrinkles on her face made me think she had worked hard her whole life.
I made my assessment: Nothing about her appearance was lovely.
At that moment I heard the voice of the Lord in my heart. “Look at her with love. See her how her loved ones see her. How I see her.”
Instantly I saw her differently. Love made her beautiful, soft, radiant.
“Look with love,” I heard God speak to my heart again, but this time He wasn’t talking about the woman in front of me. He was talking about everyone, myself included.
We don’t know where or when the Lord will speak to our heart. He spoke to Jeremiah at the potter’s house (see Jeremiah 18:3) and to me at a doctor’s office. But God accompanies us throughout our days, looking on us with love and meeting us in mundane.

Take a moment to look at everyone you see today, and look again at them with God's love.
