By Their Fruits: The 2021 Prayer Pledge // Day 16

Reflect

Each of the Fruits of the Luminous Mysteries—The Baptism in the Jordan, The Wedding at Cana, The Proclamation the Kingdom, The Transfiguration, and The Institution of the Eucharist—give us a moment in Jesus’ public ministry to reflect on and see how the work He performed 2,000 years ago is present to us today in our own circumstances.

At the Baptism of Jordan, we see that God calls Jesus His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased. In our daily lives, it is good to pause and see how Jesus, our Beloved, is working to increase our faith in Him and restore our relationship with The Father.

The Wedding at Cana focuses on our Blessed Mother and teaches us about her trust and faith in Jesus as He works his first miracle at her request. Our Blessed Mother is always ready to bring us closer to her Son, who is the Light of the world.

Repentance and trust lead us to true freedom in our life with Christ and liberate us from the chains of sin.

The Transfiguration reminds us that our pilgrimage here on this earth is one that should lead us to holiness and a fervent desire to follow Him who is Holy.

Lastly, the Institution of the Eucharist brings us to the Source of our life, which is Jesus Himself.

These Mysteries clear the fog from the parts of our lives that are in most need of receiving the light of Christ. It is through our personal conversion (metanoia) that we can become great witnesses to our Faith. The deeper our metanoia, the greater the light we radiate. May Jesus be our guiding light as He points us towards holiness in our daily lives.

Let Us Pray

Lord, thank You for bringing Your light into the world. Thank You for showing us the Way, for being our Way. May we walk by the light of Your witness and Truth. Amen.
