The 2023 Catholic Advent Devotional For Women | Blessed Is She

The weather is just now changing, leaves are turning, and PSLs are back on the menu—but something special is just on the horizon and we want you to know about it. It’s hard to believe, but the beginning of Advent is just under 8 weeks away! We would love to create a space of rest for you as you begin your preparations for the Christmas season. 

Enter: The Good Shepherd

There’s no doubt that the “holiday season” can stir up feelings of hurry, busyness, emotion, and maybe even panic. There’s a lot to be done, people to check in with, and many places to be. 

The Lord doesn’t desire this chaos for your heart. 

Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and we are His sheep. Even more tenderly, He sees us as little lambs wrapped up in His warm and completely safe arms. We’re here being found, rescued, fed, anointed, and called to rest. 

This is more than just a sweet image in a painting or a song. This is a real part of who we are and who He is. He gently calls us to sit by still waters (Psalm 23:2), and that’s possible right here in your daily life.

What to Expect in the Advent Devotional

We invite you to bring your heart before the Good Shepherd all throughout the Advent season. This devotional aims to bring you right under the cloak of Jesus the Good Shepherd. Psalm 23 is the very heartbeat of a four-week exploration of the Shepherd’s presence in our lives. We tell stories, share Scripture, invite you into meditative and contemplative prayer, and ask you to look for the many ways Jesus is actively shepherding you in your own life. This year’s stories are written by Katie Prejean McGrady, Mary Catherine Craige, Rachel Balducci, and Senite Sahlezghi.
